Director of Safety & Technical Services
With nearly 28 years in the industry, Bret is the Director of Safety and Technical Services and is responsible for the day to day operations of all of the hyperbaric systems within the company. His responsibilities include: training for new staff members, continued training for current staff member, compliance of all applicable safety codes and completion of preventative maintenance for all of the chambers and their sub-systems. Bret is instrumental in getting the company prepared for bi-annual accreditations from the UHMS. Graduating from commercial diving school in 1977, Bret worked as a Diver/Life Support Tech for 10 years in the offshore commercial diving field with Taylor Diving. When onshore, he also worked at one of the local hospitals in New Orleans that provided hyperbaric therapy, where he took an interest in the clinical applications of hyperbaric medicine. After obtaining an EMT certification in 1987, Bret accepted a position at Maryland University Hospital’s “Shock Trauma” Hyperbaric Center to start in the clinical role as a chamber technician. After 6 years, Bret became the Program Manager of an eight person multiplace hyperbaric system at the Regional Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee. From there Bret was appointed the Director and opened the Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center at Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian, MS, where he worked for ten years.
